Audrey Johnson is the Director of Economic Development at the John Hopkins University and John Hopkins Health Systems. In this role, she is responsible for economic diversification and innovation in the Johns Hopkins University and Johns Hopkins Health System footprint to incite emerging sectors, strengthen assets, support growth and solve complex challenges. Prior to joining Johns Hopkins in 2020, Audrey led Kaiser Permanente's Mid-Atlantic States Region’s supplier diversity portfolio and economic impact strategy driving economic opportunity for the District of Columbia, Maryland and Virginia markets. She advised on investments addressing health equity disparities in communities Kaiser Permanente served through implementation of initiatives and programs to build small business capacity and increase access to capital. As a champion for equity, Audrey directed Kaiser Permanente’s assets towards community health and wealth building by driving economic inclusion through job creation, small business development, and collective procurement with anchor network partnerships for impact.
In 2019, Audrey was selected as the Healthcare Champion of the year and received the Community Leaders Award by Women of Prince George’s. The Women of Prince George’s Community Leaders Award honors business and professional women who are making significant contributions to the Prince George’s County, Maryland business community. Audrey is an Advisory Board Member of the District of Columbia Community Anchor Partnership. She has an undergraduate degree in Economics from Howard University and a Master of Business Administration in Finance from The George Washington University School of Business.
