INTERNSHIP TESTIMONIALS
NAHSE, Baltimore Chapter, Summer Internship Program The NAHSE, Baltimore Chapter, Summer Internship Program in Health Administration began in 1970 as a result of under representation of African-Americans in the health care administration field. The program was developed by concerned professionals and has enabled hundreds of minority undergraduate and graduate students to work and study in health facilities in the Baltimore Metropolitan area. The NAHSE Internship Program is an 8 to 10 week summer enrichment program in health administration and health services administration for talented undergraduate and graduate students who possess the aptitude and skills required to work in a complex multidisciplinary healthcare environment.
The NAHSE summer internship is really amazing. I was given all the tools I needed to gain confidence in areas I knew I needed to work on. Working for Sodexo was great! My mangers asked me up front about my interests and the kinds of career experience I was looking for and talked to me about the skills I had and the ones I wanted to develop. All summer, they stayed in touch with me make sure that everything was working out okay. They wanted to make sure this was an experience that would prepare me for a career later in life. I would encourage all students to take part in this program. This program allowed me to get a foot in the door and prove my worth. As luck would have it, a job opened up with Sodexo and I was hired full time with benefits! I feel this job opportunity would not have been made available to me without the NAHSE program. I have greatly benefited from the NAHSE and owe a debt of gratitude to the staff and program THANK YOU.
Being a NAHSE intern is truly an invaluable experience. Because of the Summer Internship Program, I was able to work with top leaders in the healthcare industry, contribute to the care of patient’s in West Baltimore, MD, and continue my growth as a healthcare professional. I would encourage students to take part in this amazing program because its gives them the opportunity to build strong relationships as well as contribute to their own career development. NAHSE, Baltimore Chapter provided a unique, educational, and enriching internship experience that has paved the way for my future. |
